What is VAPT?

VAPT stands for Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing. It is a comprehensive security testing methodology that helps organizations to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities in their IT infrastructure and applications.
Vulnerability Assessment (VA) involves analyzing systems, applications, and networks to identify potential security weaknesses, such as misconfigurations, software vulnerabilities, or access control issues. VA uses various techniques, including automated vulnerability scanners, manual inspection, and testing.
Penetration Testing (PT), on the other hand, is a more advanced security testing technique that involves attempting to exploit identified vulnerabilities in order to gain unauthorized access to a system or application. PT can be either manual or automated and simulates real-world attacks to test the security of a system.
By performing both VA and PT, organizations can get a comprehensive understanding of their security posture and identify weaknesses that may be exploited by attackers. This enables organizations to take proactive measures to improve their security and reduce the risk of a security breach or cyber attack.
